Our Little Wickets Story

The Little Wickets franchise was born in 2011 when mum-of-two Chloe Williams, teamed up with an ECB Coach Education Trainer to create a unique cricket programme for young children. Struggling to find fun, high-quality and engaging cricket sessions for her own pre-school son and daughter, Chloe set out to combine expert coaching with the life lessons that sport can offer creating Little Wickets: where even the youngest cricketers can learn, laugh and shine.

Since then, Little Wickets has grown into the UK’s leading independent provider of early years and primary cricket coaching. We’ve helped thousands of children get active, build confidence, and fall in love with sport – all while learning the values that embody ‘The Spirit of Cricket’ – teamwork, resilience, and fair play.

We’re not just about raising future cricketers (though some of our Little Wicketers have gone on to County & England teams!) – we’re about helping every child develop healthy, helpful habits for life

Our Values

The Little Wickets family value confidence, connection and character that lasts a lifetime — built on integrity, best practice and child-centred excellence.

We help young children aged 2.5+ grow through movement, teamwork and values-led coaching, rooted in “The Spirit of Cricket” and delivered with tons of fun. As a franchisee, you become part of something bigger: raising Team Players for Life within a model aligned to the ethical standards of The British Franchise Association and strengthened by independent quality and safeguarding assessment through the Children’s Activities Association.

Our vision is to build a nationwide community of children, coaches and franchisees united by cricket, confidence and kindness — where every child can thrive on and off the pitch through participation, fair play and fun, and every franchisee operates with credibility, professionalism and purpose.

Children gather with two Little Wickets cricket coaches in a sports hall. A coach rewards a young player with a sticker while others watch, showing the fun and supportive environment of the Little Wickets cricket franchise.
